Very tasty authentic Japanese food. Public parking lot nearby (approx. 10 minutes on foot). A reservation is definitely recommended.

The food was delicious when I was here. The food was fresh and lovingly prepared. The service was really sweet and friendly, I had the feeling to be welcome here and that I could come again, which is certainly not the case in every restaurant (I speak from experience). Everything was okay here and there is something great about eating on Jahninsel. You are already looking forward to the relaxation that you can eat in the restaurant again.

Great Japanese restaurant - the quality of the food is superb and traditional, the place almost magical. We were able to sit outside under a roof with a view of the Danube, wonderful. Starters, main courses and also the desserts are fantastic. The sushi is masterful. As a fan of Japanese cuisine, a big thank you!

We had an amazing evening. The boss and the wait staff went out of their way to look after us and we all felt comfortable. The food came quite quickly for the number of guests and was incredibly good. Special requests were also taken into account. The ambience corresponds to an upscale restaurant and the fish was delicious. Since we tried half the menu, we can only recommend the restaurant. Our friends and family were thrilled too. The highlight was definitely the eel, as you can't try it too often

My husband picked this place kinda randomly and we were lucky enough to get table without reservation... Later on you had no chance to get free spot without having it previously reserved. We sat outside, the outside seating is separated from the street, so it feels more private without having people passing by. Menu was in german and also english, the selection was okay, the prices were bit on the higher end. The gyoza dumplings were really good, shoyu and miso ramen were average, but the atmosphere of the place made up to it. The staff was nice and friendly, sometimes was hard to catch them running around the place. :) Not sure if there's any wi-fi, but I'm sure we paid with card.

The food was delicious only the menu was relatively incomprehensible if you don't speak Japanese. Sometimes there was a translation below and sometimes not. Is still a nice restaurant where you can sit outside.

On 02.02.2020 there was fantastic dining there in the evening. DEG's path was totally worth it. The starters alone are a feast for the palate, especially since the friendliness is also to be commended. All in all, a very successful family evening. Anytime again, and many thanks to the team.

The atmosphere and the food reminded us of being in Japan. The staff were friendly and made great recommendations. We ordered the miso ramen (recommended by the staff) and a veggie rice bowl.

A fine sushi restaurant with a good selection. The staff was friendly and the food delivered quickly. All appetizers have convinced and were very well presented. Also the many sushi were all very good. The fish tasted fresh, not stale as in many other sushi houses. The decor is really cute too. We are happy to come back

Perfect combination of Danube, Upper Palatinate and culinary Japanese culture 😊 Good teas, authentic Japanese cuisine at a high level - whether appetizers, udon, sushi, sashimi or hot dishes. Very delicious also the deserts, which seem the least traditional. A wonderful garden on the Donaupier makes the culinary experience really nice in fine weather. Not cheap - but the price / performance ratio is totally fine. Highly recommended - even with baby 😊😊😊

my first visit to a Japanese restaurant. So , cant really compare with others. My rating is based on my experience, meaning how well i felt in the place and how good was the food. Pleasant, cozy environment with good food. Also the service was very good.

Had the pleasure of dining at this fine establishment. As a new restaurant, of course it is wet behind the ears in some cases but not in terms of hospitality and heart with regards to their food and experience. As a Japanese restaurant, it has a beautiful wood interior which gives one a very warm and homely feeling. The food is great, Albeit not yet at its peak, but they are always working towards how they can achieve the peak and it is a non-stop effort to chase that fleeting perfection yet at a price point which is comfortable for everyone. His ramen is Osaka styled ramen, the owner learnt it while in Japan and using that basics, they sought to recreate a flavour which is authentic right here in Germany. The broth is thinner but full of flavour, this leads to a ramen which is lighter then the thicker styles some people are used to. This allows you to enjoy the flavours more and not feel so full at the end of the meal which is great. I tried the Tan Tan men which consists of ground pork, bok choy and a miso based broth. The ground meat was full of flavour and the soup was Light and flavourful. I also tried the Shoyu ramen which came with a 1 pork belly and 2 pork loin Cha Shu. It is my personal favourite as it is so flavourful without being Too salty, and packed with flavour. All the ramen noodles used in the restaurant are fresh noodles imported from Japan, leading to noodles with a greater bite and texture and it allows more broth to stick to the noodles when you slurp it, leading to a delicious mouthful. The owner, Tuan whom is also the head sushi Chef learned his craft in Japan and he is continuously making an effort to go back to absorb more knowledge each time he return to the land of sushi. His passion and love for feeding people is something that shows through his food and it is something I thoroughly enjoy. His spicy salmon maki is one of my personal favourites, using a special blend of sauces, it bring out of the flavour of the fish and makes it so delicious. Give this restaurant a chance and feel the family vibes in this wonderfully warm restaurant, Kazoku / 家族. And who says good japanese food must be made by a Japanese, it is made by a person with a Japanese spirit and I dare say Tuan is a man with a Japanese spirit. 👍🏽

Restaurant itself is nicely decorated, but food is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for this quality and quantity. Sushi(just feeeewwe pieces) set on plastic plate : 17€... I laugh... "Japanese cuisine" doesn't mean "expensive", also not just "small portion". It has to adopt needs and size in the market also. This Vietnamese-owner-family traveled to Japan for few weeks and just see and learned surface of japanese cuisine, that's what I know from behind. If he really learned by following sushi master(like it's written in website), he can cook better. sorry for owners and people who review this restaurant with good rate.... I don't want to support their biz, they are just taking advantage of "lack-of-knowledge about Japan" in Regensburg.

Good food and service a bit out of the way but worth it.

Finally a real Japanese in Regensburg. Absolutely outstanding food - almost like in Japan. Sushi tastes here and not like local would-be sushi. Staff correct and honest friendly, typical Japanese. The only thing missing is my beloved Kobe steak - but I still have hope there. Absolutely recommended restaurant and priced for the freshness of the fish.

*RAMEN REVIEW* I was hoping to finally have a good ramen spot in Regensburg but was disappointed with my experience... I’ve tried a lot of ramen in many other cities so maybe my taste is different compared to those who’ve never tried it before. The ramen cost about 13 euro, the total meal per person almost 30 euro (with drink and appetizer) and for that price I expected a lot more. I had the miso ramen and the portion was very small.. normally after spending that much on a bowl of ramen I expect to be full and I also had an appetizer before. Toppings were very minimal... few soy beans, few bamboo, very little green onion some meat and half an egg.. where is the corn? Chili oil? Sesame? Ginger? Seaweed? Full egg maybe? Broth was so so so thin.. felt almost like hot water and Brühe, ramen soup is supposed to be cooked almost 16 hours in order to achieve thickness.. Egg tasted really strange.. sour almost? I think there was too much vinegar when soaking it in the soy sauce. The meat too thick supposed to be thinly sliced, and way too much fat on it. Also my boyfriend had a piece of metal in his ramen. We notified the staff and they didn’t do anything except say sorry. We had to tell them again to make sure they tell the chef so this doesn’t happen again to someone else. Was a bit disappointed and don’t plan on returning. Perhaps the sushi is their specialty and not ramen. I’m writing this review in hopes that the management will experiment and try harder to make a better ramen. Or maybe lower the price.. that ramen is not worth more then 8 euro. I think if you put more effort into the ramen, you’ll be able to set yourself a part from the other sushi restaurants in Regensburg which are way cheaper.

A Japanese restaurant in the more traditional sense. Nicely decorated, friendly staff, good, quality food. Is accordingly not the cheapest but that's okay.
